ARSON RISK ASSESSMENT

• Fire Safety legislation is designed to ensure that people within a building will have early warning of a fire and adequate and clearly marked escape routes.
• Hundreds of Millions of pounds a year are lost in fires which have been the result of a deliberate act.
• Schools, Businesses, Hospitals, and private homes have all been the target of arson attacks.
• An arson risk assessment can identify areas which may be considered easy to attack. A fire started in the right position on the outside of a building can easily lead to fire spread into a building. Areas within a building can be vulnerable to attack by members of the public or disgruntled staff. These areas can be identified and made safe when identified.
